[moving in roughly the same direction but keeping some distance between himself and salty.]

[walking at a relaxed, almost leisurely pace, arm swinging his spear in a slow arc as he brings it up in preparation to throw it]

[unhooking a knife from his belt, quietly as he can, following them while looking behind.]

[stops, ducks behind tree as the source of the noise is revealed ... conveniently with their back to us.]
